Spring is a comin' and that means we will finally have the opportunity to start jazzin' up the outside of the building. No longer will there be sterile white walls! Who knows, maybe we'll even add a little bit of color...
We've had LOTS of requests to extend our hours. Believe me folks, we have had plans to do this from the get go. In order to do so, however, we need to continue to work on training and hiring more staff. When we do finally extend the hours, we need to know that in our absence (because we can't and don't want to be there all the time!) our staff will follow through with the same high standards we have for quality food, a clean environment and quality service. We'll keep working on it and keep you posted!
We have gotten lots of fantastic feedback from folks in the last couple of weeks -- many of whom were Fat Boy regulars back in the day. Thank you so much to all of our regulars, old and new! You folks are the ones who keep up afloat! Your loyalty, patronage and friendship is greatly appreciated :)
Well, this is interesting.
A few weeks ago after reading about the Fat Boy reopening in The Press, I decided to pay a visit. Although I've lived in the GR area for 30 years, I had never gone to Fat Boy, so I was curious to check out your restaurant.
I arrive early one afternoon, order up a Fat Boy Burger, and return to my seat. Imagine my disappointment when I find out that this supposedly great burger has nothing on it but a dollop of olive/mayo dressing. No tomato, no lettuce, no anything. Well, so much for this place I say to myself as I drive away.
Now, I've just come across a restaurant review in the April issue of On-The-Town. The description of a Fat Boy Burger in the article bears no resemblance to the FBB I received.
Jill, was I supposed to request all the fixings that apparently come with the burger? Thanks for clarifying.
Dave
P.S. Is one of the words in the subhead at the top of the blog supposed to be "chronicles" or is "chornonicles" correct? (If the latter, what does it mean?)

Dave, I am so sorry to hear that you did not receive a "true" Fat Boy burger! You are correct in that your burger should have had cheese, lettuce, and tomato in addition to the olives and mayo. So, no, you should not have to ask for the fixings -- you should have gotten them. Again, I apologize.
We are in the process of training some of our staff on the grill. We will make sure to reiterate to all staff that the FBB should be served as indicated in the menu.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We cannot improve on these things with out feedback from our customers. I hope you will give us another try.
Thanks too, for noticing the typo at the top of the blog!!! All this time, and no one (including myself!) has noticed! Thanks again, and if you do stop back in, be sure to introduce yourself or at least comment again and let us know if your order was correct the second time around :)

Jill, I'm glad you took my comment in the spirit that it was given. I actually would have preferred to send the email directly to you instead of broadcasting it on your blog. But I know if I was the owner, I'd still want to get feedback, both good and not so good.
I'll be happy to stop in again. The Blue Burger looks great, too.
All the best,
Dave
