- Plastic spray bottles
- Food Coloring
- Plain white sheet
I find spray bottles all the time at local dollar stores. Clear and small for little hands are preferred. The number will depend on how many kids are going to be participating and how many colors you want to do.
Here's what to do:
- Hang the sheet outside, e.g., on a clothesline, fence, etc.
- Fill the water bottles and add a few drops of food coloring
- Have the kids spray designs on the sheet
This is a great one for them to do in their swimsuits. Keep in mind that food coloring can stain, however, the incidence of this is reduced when it is highly diluted in water. Just something to keep in mind.
This is a great activity that helps develop hand strength. It will help kids with the muscles they need for writing, scissor cutting, etc. You can let older kids experiment by allowing them to be in charge of coloring the water. What a great science experience!
Your kids will love this one! Again, if you have any ideas or suggestion for the Summer Boredom Buster series, drop me a line at email@example.com.
